CAR AND PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT CLAIMS
Over 20,000 people are injured or killed every year in a pedestrian accident involving a car or other vehicle. All ages are affected but 4O% of fatalities occur between 3:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon mainly to school children and the elderly. RTA's are the biggest single cause of death amongst children and young people. Excessive speed of the vehicle involved is a factor in one third of all such accidents.
What can I claim for?
General Damages
Relate to the actual pain and suffering caused by the accident itself. Judges are assisted in determining what level of damages applies by the Judicial Studies Board Guidelines and review of previous awards in similar cases..
Special Damages
These relate to specific matters such as loss of earnings (both past and future), cost of medical fees, prescription charges, travel expenses, loss of personal property damaged in the accident and similar specific expenses.
What will this cost me?
NOTHING – our solicitors when they accept a case will act on a “No Win – No Fee” basis and we will not deduct any money from an award of damages made to you. If you are awarded £5,000 you keep £5,000. Our solicitors are paid by the losing opponent or their insurer but only if the case wins.
We can all be vulnerable when walking in the street, crossing the road or going into shops or work. Accidents of all types do happen including slips and trips, being injured by vehicles or even animals and many more.
If you have suffered injury in a pedestrian accident involving a car or other vehicle, we can help. Our panel solicitors will listen to the full details of what has happened and determine if another person or organisation was responsible for the accident. If someone else was at fault then you will almost certainly have a claim for compensation for the injuries you have suffered and related costs and expenses. Remember – compensation for injury is your right.
